Just as it looked like the Saints would come back further Retford re-extended there lead and made it 1-4 on 58 minutes despite McGraths best efforts. 60 seconds later it could have been 5 but once again McGrath made a good save.
Mikey Fitzhugh looked to repeat last weeks freekick goal with a similar effort on 65 minutes but it was hit high over the bar. More saints players were going down injured with firstly Clarke needing treatment, and Trav Munn with cramp.
In the closing stages Trav Munn and Elliot Saunders-Johnson both went up for a corner as Retford cleared and broke the saints were left short at the back and Retford rounded off the scoring to make it 5-1 to the visitors.
Manager Nick Labbate will be hoping the squad can shake off the injurys and get some players back on the pitch for next weeks trip to Claycross, there was positives to take from todays game and some highlights were youngsters Bagavan and James both doing well coming on from the bench,
Todays Man Of The Match goes to Perry McGrath always a difficult job taking on the gloves when a keeper is injured and Perry made some good saves but today Retford were just too good for the Saints
